Who will be ordained to the priesthood?
Deacon Donald Amodeo, was born in Buffalo, New York, to Dr. Donald and Angela Amodeo. The family moved to Florida where he, his parents and four sisters Jessica, Christine, Mary, and Theresa— lived the Faith as parishioners of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tampa. While he has lived most of his life in Florida, Don would later head back up north to the Franciscan University of Steubenville to discern the priesthood. He took some wonderful theology courses, yet ended up with a marketing degree, eventually channeling his creative energy into a successful startup business and authoring the afterlife adventure “Dead & Godless.” But the Lord wasn’t done with him yet! That old calling came back, and this time he said yes. Don began his seminary formation for the Diocese of St. Petersburg by attending St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami for pre-theology and St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach for theology. He was ordained a Deacon in April of 2021. As a seminarian for the Diocese of St. Petersburg, Don has served in the following parishes: St. Raphael (St. Petersburg), St. Stephen (Riverview), and St. Paul (St. Petersburg). Reverend Don Amodeo’s first priestly assignment is as Parochial Vicar at Nativity Parish in Brandon.
Deacon Zachary Brasseur was born in St. Petersburg, Florida. He and his sisters – Amy, Alexis and Jessica – were raised by Brad and Kathy Brasseur and attended St. Paul Catholic Church in St. Petersburg. After graduating from St. Petersburg High School he attended St. Leo University where he studied history and theology. The seeds of his vocation were planted at a young age by his acquaintances with so many happy and joyful priests. Through involvement in Life Teen and campus ministry in college, as well as a deepening prayer life, the Lord invited him to consider more seriously what was already moving in his heart. In the fall of 2015 he gave his “yes” to the Lord and began seminary formation by attending St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami for pre-theology and St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach for theology. He was ordained a Deacon in April of 2021. In his free time, Zach enjoys following the Tampa Bay Rays, playing golf, keeping up with world events, and listening to history podcasts. He is also a firm believer that St. Petersburg is the greatest city in the world, and he is excited to be a priest in the place he calls home. As a seminarian for the Diocese of St. Petersburg, Zach has served in the following parishes: St. Lawrence (Tampa), Nativity (Brandon), St. Timothy (Lutz), St. John Vianney (St. Pete Beach), and St. Paul (St. Petersburg). Reverend Zach Brasseur’s first priestly assignment is as Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Dunedin.
